Please, do not mistake kindness for weakness.
Oh, I know as well as you do as to how badly kindness takes a beating. People bite the hand that feeds them, wriggle out of your grasp and push you down the beaten road. The distrust that grows, one that breeds a self-absorbed world encased in narcissistic mirrors.
Even so, no matter how many times people tread on your loving gift or steal the light from your eyes, don’t give in. In a world bereft of it, kindness does have a way of mending the broken-hearted and melting icy walls.
Take someone’s hands in yours and love them with all that you can.
You might be the only one who would, for them.
